This is actually a link to my friend Jason's blog, who links to a great blog I think musicians out there should read. It is not often that you get honest advice from someone in the music biz, so check it!

Going to the studio tonight!
Alright, I finally did it. I plotted out some recording time so I can finally lay down some solo piano christmas music. It is too late to really sell or get to people now, but I figure the next couple of years I will have a christmas cd to get out there! I played for several thousand people the last few weeks, and it would have been great if I had a x-mas cd to sell them!
Let me know if you would like a track or two e-mailed out to ya!

Ray's Boathouse - Dick's Drive In!
Had an excellent private gig tonight. It was me, playing solo - Jazz/Blues/X-mas songs.
Thought that it was going to be kind of strange, but it turns out it was awesome. Thirty people about, all managers and owners of Dick's Drive In's. I decided that I have not been getting enough 'practice' at these solo gigs that I do, so I decided I was going to sing a bunch tonight! Sang tons of Christmas songs and Blues and Jazz, and man...! I thought it was pretty good actually. I brought my PA instead of my amp, and my keyboard sounds way better through it, not to mention the vocals. I feel like after a song or two I got used to singing through the PA system, and had some control over it and could just relax and sing along.
People really had a great response to it, and it was the best practice I have had at a solo gig in a very long time, especially for being a casual. I am going to sing a lot at all these upcoming gigs!
Sincerely,
Mack

Happy Birthday to Me!!!
It is sad, I always have to play happy birthday to myself!! At least people sing along though.
Been pretty busy with a bunch of corporate gigs. Did a short little trio thing with Leah Stilwell and Jon Hamar the other night at Hotel 1000 - it was okay. Strange gig! Those two are great musicians, and I was having a hard time playing... feeling really mad about playing a keyboard also. Anyways, it was okay, then when I got to the gig I also realized I had forgotten the keyboard stand so I had to run home and grab it - I was ten minutes late.
Then the following night we played the Triple Door with Dudley Manlove. Man, I love the sound there. They can set it up so perfect you can hear yourself just awesome. It made me feel like I sang good!
